Such a painful companion

So last night was the closing night of the “What Happens in Vegas” tour. I posted the pics that I took on my iPhone. IDK how people did it, but some got digital cameras in. The tickets specifically said “NO CAMERAS.” I was livid. I really wanted to get some still pictures and video. The vibe was definitely a closing night one. For every closing song except for The Cab, the guys in the other bands would came onstage to sing and make a nuisance of themselves, lol. The messiest was The Summer Set because everyone dumped cans of Coke and water on the drum kit while she was still playing, lol. But I am definitely in love with The Summer Set because the drummer was a female and she was amazing. She reminded me of Ronnie Vannucci from the Killers. And you know what the Killers mean to me. That is the highest compliment I can ever give another band is to compare them to the Killers. :)

We got home at a decent hour but I had to be up early because my dog Simba had an appointment for some long overdue shots. He’s not too good in cars so I had to drive really slow. Luckily it was early in the morning so it wasn’t too bad traffic-wise. Unfortunately, I was anticipating it a little too much, because PetsMart doesn’t even open until 9am which was his appointment time at the Banfield Hospital inside, lol. I was sitting out there with him for half an hour. He was acting spoiled; he kept rolling over into this position that makes it easier for you to rub his belly. He’s hella smart, lol. I suppose I could’ve gone inside and waited, ’cause there were Petsmart employees in there. But I decided to wait.

It went pretty smoothly, all things considered. He gained 3 ounces, and they marked him as “overweight.” The hell? lol. I suppose I need to start taking him on walks again.

He didn’t freak out when he got the temperature gauge in his butt. I remember the first time they did that. He hated that shit, lol. I need to work on cleaning his ears and his teeth but Simba’s not too good with toothbrushes. That’s right; they make toothbrushes for dogs. I think I’ll get him bones that work on cleaning his teeth for me instead.

The first shot went okay. The second one, he straight up growled at the vet. My boy doesn’t growl. So you know it’s srs bsns when he does. We had to muzzle him to get the rest of the shots done. But Simba’s a good boy. He loves people, even though he was shaking from nervousness the whole time we were there. He knew what was happening ’cause he’s been there several times over the years. He doesn’t freak out when meeting people, unlike CoCo, that little shit, lol.

CoCo’s a Miniature Pinscher and he thinks he’s the biggest dog on the block! I just Wiki’d his breed and this fully explains his attitude: “This dog truly does not see itself as small and therefore will challenge anything, including larger breeds.” He picks on Simba like nothing, but Simba would never hurt him. They’re buds.

As long as one of us is around, Simba will let other people touch him. Everyone tells him he’s beautiful. I agree. He is one of the prettiest dogs ever. And I’m not saying that ’cause I’m his owner, lol. This one lady – another customer at Banfield – asked what kind of dog he was (Chow/Golden Retriever/Rottweiler) and she sorta freaked out when she heard rottweiler. He doesn’t act like one, I can tell you that!

I’m a little nervous about when we put him up with pet boarding in a few weeks, because he’s not “fixed.” It’ll cost us $300 to get him fixed, no matter if we got to the Humane Society or through Banfield. Plus they’ll prolly make us pay for a full exam before they put him under to cut his manhood off. I need to discuss this with my parents. It’s about time we do this. I told my parents I wanted it done when he was a puppy but they didn’t listen to me.

Anyways, after a well-deserved nap, I hit TJ Maxx, Home Goods, and Target in a bad way. I have too many dark colours in my daily wardrobe. I wanted some dressier blouses, not just band shirts or t-shirts, though those will always remain a staple. I ended up with 4 new blouses, some camis to wear under a couple of the blouses, a new pair of skinny jeans, some bras and socks. Plus a new quilt.

I also preordered Rock Band: The Beatles. It comes out 9 days before my birthday this year. I don’t care too much to people to get spoiled, so I usually buy my birthday presents for myself. I get three awesome gifts: Rock Band: The Beatles, the trip to Disneyland, and the iPhone 3GS. Then to celebrate all this, I went to Albertsons and got some sushi for dinner. Yum.

Now I’m just chilling. I should probably make it an early night since I work early tomorrow.

?: “Any fun purchases lately?
