As time goes by

Shiny new domain! Yay! Hello Salvation came to me whilst I was doing my reading for Medieval English Lit. So Dr. S, thank ya. :D I sorted out Nothing but Song as my portfolio. I think it looks pretty good if I do say so myself V. me.

On another note, I cannot believe it’s midnight right now. I think this is the first year that the time change has made me loopy. Every previous year I’ve adjusted pretty well. But every time I look at the clock, I keep thinking it’s hours earlier than it really is. Boo. I took a nap today and I think that’s what messed me up too. Whatever, at least I feel better. Everyone at work was so zoned out today. It was really quiet. All the shows are coming in next week.

It’s spring break right now, as far as I’m concerned, lol. Doesn’t technically start until Monday. I had a couple of midterms before the break. I don’t think I did v. well on either one. And let me tell you, I hustled trying to cram for them. I’ve never crammed for anything in my life. I usually pick things up pretty quickly and get tolerable grades. Unfortunately for my grades this term, studying is the last thing on my mind after I get home from work. I used to be able to handle studying for school. But this semester, I just can’t.

I’d rather go to school in the morning and work at night. That is way easier for me. Work takes more out of me than school does.

Ugh. At least it’s halfway over! Gotta look at the bright side.

Speaking of the bright side, I only need 3 more classes and they’re offering them all in the fall!!!!! I’m on track to graduate, my friends. It’s so close, I can almost taste it. That knocks one more thing off my mental “to-complete” list. Next, paying off my credit cards and car loan. Then CALIFORNIA!!

My co-workers asked me what my plans were after I graduate, and I said, “goin’ back to Cali.” And that set two of them off. They started rapping the LL Cool J song, “Goin’ Back to Cali.” It was great! Then of course, J teased me that I’ll be back in Vegas after a few months. I was kinda hesitant to explain my reasons for going back to them, but the one thing I blurted out was I need to be by the ocean. Like I said before, NOTHING in the world beats the ocean, as far as I’m concerned. I don’t care what I have to do, I will make my life in Cali work. *crosses fingers*

I saw Watchmen the other day with Corinne, and the only thing I can’t get off my mind is Patrick Wilson’s epic ass. Siriusly, not even playing, it was EPIC. Though brief, lol. It really is a lot to chew on and makes you ponder when you leave. That’s prolly why everyone’s been bitching about it. Anyways, my review is up at Kiss My Sass, if you wanna read it.

I didn’t realize what a pain in the butt transferring registrars was. That’s prolly why I avoided it for so long. But NameCheap’s prices and their promo code, “switch2nc,” was too good to pass up in this economy. The code’s only good for March 2009, so if you want to switch, no time like the present!

GoDaddy jacked up their prices pretty severely. I’ve lost money on some of the domains I’ve renewed for clients at American Princess in recent months. Not good. :( I’m pretty much free from Godaddy now. Just need to transfer one more. GoDaddy’s interface is really nice-looking but it takes so long to load. Plus it’s a little clunky to purchase one domain. So many upsells. I respect that though, since we’re all in the business of making money. But it gets to be tiring after awhile, yeesh.

I splurged hardcore yesterday. I got my tax return and it was a welcome sight in my bank account, lol. I socked away half of it for emergencies. Then I went to Target for some supplies. After the movies, Corinne had a job interview at Fashion Show, so I ended up hitting Icing (picked up some cute earrings and necklaces) and Sanrio (red envelopes for Chinese New Year and some bad-ass, straight from Japan chopsticks) while we were there. I’m feeling buyer’s remorse for a couple of items, so I’ll return them next week since I have nothing going on. I shouldn’t say remorse, more like “I wish they did what I wanted them to do so I don’t have to go back.”

She also wanted to check on a job she applied for at Caesar’s, but I missed the turn for the parking garage there. We ended up parking at the Bellagio and going to the Bellagio Botanical Gardens first. Then we spun back and went to Caesar’s. The FAO Schwartz there was finished with their revamp so the sweets counter was open again! I bought almost 2 lbs of gummy candy of all kinds. Me and my niece N are fighting over them, lol. Then we went home. I wanted to get sushi but I was so tired from walking around all day. It ended up getting pretty late. It didn’t help that the movie clocked in at nearly 3 hours, whew.

I should get to bed. I’ve got an early day at work tomorrow.

?: “Any exciting plans for spring break?

I’m permanently on spring break, since I’m not working and I hate it! I wanna go back to work!

I love that you’re nearly there! So close!

As for Cali, when its meant to happen the universe helps you do it. When you want something bad enough, it’ll happen.

I still can’t believe how badly the economy is affecting the world. :( I hate how close it has hit. Kind of tells me that no one is safe and that I might be next. *fret* But alas, we cannot dwell on the negative. We must remain positive and keep the faith. I do hope you can find something v. soon. *crosses fingers*

I’m hoping the universe will heed my call. Everything is falling into place in my head. God, I really do hope it works out.

Love the new domain name *thumbs up* I really want to reorganize my website a bit but alas, have to wait until all my essays are over and done with :(

Yay that you’re so close to graduation! Your plans sound tres awesome, I know you’ll be back in Cali soon enough, soaking up the sun (no pun intended with whatever countless songs are attached to that one phrase—it’s almost 2 in the morning here, what can I say? lol *smackforehead*) *nods*

    Gill replied:

Thanks! Organizing will do you some good. It’s helped clear up my own mind. How many more do you have? I too waited until midterms were done before I did some serious reorganization, lol.

I cannot believe how close I am. This is bananas. Even though I’m in the working world, I still wonder what I’m gonna do when I don’t need to worry about studying and cramming and writing scholarly essays. Maybe I should just be a professional student, lol.

Go to sleep girl, you’re crazy! :D

  3. This is to inform you that the font being used on your screenshot for my exchange is wrong, when you joined, you joined by using the correct font, what happened since then I don’t know. But it needs to be fixed ASAP! Please fix it and email me to the email address I have left, please provide the URL to the image that has the correct font, if you wait to long to reply, I will have no choice but to delete you from my database without warning. Thank you :)

    Gill replied:

Sorry about that! I’m not sure what happened, but I fixed it. :) The URL is exactly the same.

Congrats on the new domain! I dunno why but Hello Salvation makes me feel like singing lol

Yay for only 3 more classes left. So close!

    Gill replied:

Thanks. I wasn’t even sure I was gonna buy it but when I thought it up, I was like, “You can’t pass this up!” :D

You wanna sing? That’s awesome! I wonder what kind of song could come from “hello salvation,” lol.

I’m more excited about registering for classes than I ever have before, lol.
