I wanna be the one you can hold down

I’m bored and boring, and my friend has this meme, so here I am!

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
2008 was pretty typical for me. No milestone was reached, to be perfectly honest.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn’t make one since improvement should be made every day. I did make an unofficial one: watch my diet and exercise more.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my sister-in-law gave birth to the prettiest baby girl in the world. :D

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
None.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A college freakin’ degree. Christ, I’m tired with it all.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The road trip to Cali a few weeks ago. My birthday trip back to Cali in September.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
“Seven Sins of the Sisters.”

9. What was your biggest failure?
2008 was one big year of fail.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope. *knocks on wood*

The used books. My bookshelf doubled and for cheap!

Bills. *le sigh*

Doctor Who and the albums that came out: The Killers, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, etc.

14. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder: fairly more happier.
b) thinner or fatter: about the same. I need to shock my metabolism.
c) richer or poorer: poorer.

15. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Nothing. I have no regrets in that department.

16. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Spend money.

I spent Christmas working, holiday pay and all. :D

Ha. None.

I rediscovered my love for NCIS.

21. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Nope. No one’s pissed me off too much.

Hard to say, hmm. I was too burned out from required reading and work to read casually.

23. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Crystal Castles and Forever the Sickest Kids.

24. What did you want and get?
I didn’t get anything I wanted, but that makes me sound ungrateful.

Writing.

31. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ben Barnes. Butch Walker.

32. What political issue stirred you the most?
Obviously, Prop 8 in Cali, even though I didn’t vote here and can’t vote in Cali.

33. Who did you miss?
My mom, even though she’s been here for a few weeks.

34. Who was the best new person you met?
No one special.

35. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:

Fail is the new buzzword in the house. We’ve even got my dad saying it!

You know, I did that last year, not making any resolutions. But this year, I said, why not? Besides, I suck at not eating right and exercising, so that’s why it’s *technically* unofficial. I’m not gonna be a slave to it because I feel like I shouldn’t have to wait for a new year to change something in my life. Yours can be as unofficial as mine.

I can’t believe I’m a quarter of a century old. Now, another 75 more years to go!

Love the new domain name! I’m gonna visit in a sec. :D

Speaking of fail, I accidentally deleted the comment that this was in response to. If anybody wants to know what it originally said, here ya go:

Your response to the ninth question made me laugh out loud. In a way I agree because I went through a lot of things that veered out of my comfort zone, but I’d like to be somewhat hopeful (for the lack of a better word) for this year.

However, I also made the conscious decision not to make solid resolutions this year. There are some things that I want to do a little differently this year than that of the previous years, and there are some things that I want to keep the same. I won’t go into specifics, but all in all, I want to make sure I settle for nothing less than the best of what I can be.
.. or would that technically be a resolution already?

So.. how’s 25 so far? =P I’ll be turning that age this year.
